Jack-o-laterns

This evening we carved the boys' jack-o-laterns. Lucas was very excited that his had eyes that were circles and a nose that was a triangle. He helped Andy get all the seeds out and then wanted us to take it outside to light it right away. So much so that I never could get a picture of him smiling with his pumpkin because he kept saying "Light it, Daddy, light it!".

Adam thought his pumpkin turned out very nice. He kept trying to roll his around and get it in his mouth, but he was all smiles as you can see. The boys are getting very excited about their costumes and getting to go trick-or-treating for candy. We have watched a Halloween special on TV almost every night this week, which is making Lucas very anxious for the weekend.

Soup Weekend

We enjoyed a wonderful fall weekend by making burgoo and chicken n' dumplings with friends. The soup was good and the company was even better. Lucas and Adam had a great time being with thier friends: Patrick, Lucy, & Audrey. Lucas also had fun hanging out with Sean and Daddy cooking soup. On Sunday we hung out at home and finished the evening off with Family Movie Night. About once a week we all sit down in our bean bag chairs and watch a short movie. Lucas sits and eats his popcorn and watches whatever we put in very closely. Adam enjoys it too, but needs a few toys to play with along the way. Andy & I enjoy the peace and quitet.

I didn't get any blog worthy pictures of our soup making, but here's a good pic of Adam showing off his new teeth.

October Update

The boys have hit some milestones this week. Lucas is now 21 months old and counted to 10 for us for the first time. He is talking non-stop and his imagination and understanding of things is increasing every day. He cracks us up with the things that are coming out of his mouth. "Oh, Man!", "Come on guys"

Adam will be 7 months old next week and has cut his two bottom teeth. He is sitting up all the time and walks across the room with assistance to get where he wants to be. He is growing like a weed and is wearing 12 month clothes now. He is constantly making us smile with his giggles and kisses.

Adam now wants to do whatever Lucas is doing and Lucas is enjoying playing with Adam more and more. I'm home with the boys on Friday's and I took a few pictures of them reading and cooking together. Adam loves it when Lucas hugs him and rolls on the floor with him, and Lucas constantly wants to check on Adam while he is napping. We are so blessed to have our sweet little boys.

Pumpkin Patch

This morning we went to Mayes Farm to visit the pumpkin patch. It was a little too muddy for the boys to play in the straw maze or corn maze, but we did venture out to the pumpkin patch. It was the boys first official hay ride, out to the field. Then Lucas picked his pumpkin out and told Andy to "Cut it Daddy". Then Lucas picked out a little pumpkin for Adam. We had a nice time and the boys seemed to enjoy it. Fall is my favorite season and this was my fun activity with the boys for my birthday.

6 month checkup

Adam had his 6 month checkup this week. Dr. Carmack says he is doing great. He weighs 19 lbs 9 oz and is 27 in tall. That puts him in the 75% for height and 80% for weight. He's big but proportional. He is eating more solid foods and sitting up on his own most of the time. He is also scooting around so he will be crawling before we know it. He babbles a lot and smiles and giggles any time you get in his face. He got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine during his appointment and only cried for a minute. He still loves it any time Lucas interacts with him no matter how rough Lucas gets. When you sit the 2 of them down together, Adam immediately starts to pull on Lucas's clothes and hair. Lucas doesn't like this and tells Adam "No, No, Adam, no pull pants". It's too cute!
