Lucas loves to do 'riddles'. He wants us to constantly guess what he wants based on his clues. So tonight at bed time he said he wanted someone to lay with him. His clues were:
1. Someone special
2. Somone fun
3. Someone who loves him
4. Someone in his family
5. A kid
I thought he described Adam perfectly. Adam responded, "Ahhh, Mom can I go to his bed?" I let them lay together each night for a count of ten in each bed. They hug and snuggle for the 10 secs and it's adorable.
School is going very well, but I find it very interesting how the boys tell on each other. Lucas came home this week and said, "Mom, I have some bad news! Adam got in trouble for peeing outside twice!" Apparently, he was told multiple times this week not to pee outside and he didn't listen. We were told he almost peed on the other kids so I don't think he was even being discreet :)
Adam is my talker, when he gets out of school. He will tell me every detail. Lucas doesn't want to tell me about his day at all. The boys watch DVDs in the van most of the time, however, after shool I use the drive time to pull as much info out of them as I can while they are strapped down :)
Adam freely talked about his day all the way home one day, while Lucas just kept saying, "Adam what are you doing? You are wasting all my DVD time, be quiet!" Adam responded, "Lucas, Mom wants to know how my day was, and I'm still telling her".
The boys were sick last week with Hand, Foot, Mouth disease and Adam got the worst of it. While he was home from school and feeling miserable, he kept asking for his best friend, Lucas. When I would ask why he wanted Lucas, he replied, "He will make me feel better, Mom." It was just too sweet, I didn't even care that he was insinuated that I wasn't doing a good job of making him feel better and he was ready to call in a replacement.
Another time last week, Adam asked me what something was and I replied, "I don't know". He immediately said, "We need Lucas" I questioned why, and he responded, "Lucas is my brother, and he knows lots of things!"
It is amazing how unique the boys are but they are still the best of friends. I love how close they are and how much they love and enjoy each other. This brotherly love may not last forever, so I'm going to soak up as much of it as I can. There may be some rough times, especially during the teenage years, but I truly believe these two will be the best of friends for life. What a blessing they are to each other and to us!
