Well this has been a week filled with snow and Dr. appointments. Lucas went to the Dr. on Monday for what we thought might be ringworm and an ear infection. Turned out to be Eczema and most likely teeth. He went again today for his 12 month checkup and he is now sick. They think he just has a virus that needs to run it's course, but he is not feeling good and has a rash that makes him look like he has a severe sun burn.
But on a happier note, he is doing great from a well child perspective. He is on or ahead of schedule in most of his development areas and he is getting taller and thinner. At 9 months he was 50% weight and 10% height. At 12 months he is 40% on both. So he is starting to take after his Daddy.
I went to my first of the every 2 week OB appointments on Monday and got good news. My diabetes test came back good, so I don't have to go take the long version like I did with Lucas. My iron came back normal so I don't have to take a supplement like I did with Lucas. Everything else checked out ok with my blood work and other labs as well. So me and Adam are doing just fine.

1 week old

Well, we have survived the first week. Yesterday Adam had is first doctor's visit. He weighed 7 lbs 2 oz so he is 1 oz away from birth weight. She wants him to come in next week for a weight check. He was measured at 19.5 in, so he shrunk a .25 inch.
Adam is eating and sleeping and pooping just like a baby his age is supposed to be doing. Yesterday we were changing our 3rd diaper at the end of our dr. visit and while Andy was taking his diaper off, Adam decided to poop some more. It shot across the room and we had to wipe down the walls, floor, table, chairs and ourselves. Then to top it off he peed on us in the process of cleaning him up. Oh the fun of a newborn :)
Sara came over yesterday and took some great pics of Adam for his birth announcement. I included one and will create a slide show as soon as I can.

Lucas is 1!!!

Lucas is now officially 1 year old. He had a nice day on Friday (his actual birthday), he started off the day watching himself on Channel 14 Morning News Show Birthday Party and then he headed to Missy's for the day. Daddy picked him up early and Mommy came home early for some family time. After dinner Mommy had a show so the boys had the evening to themselves. On Saturday we had Lucas's Sesame Street Beginnings birthday party. He did great and ate half of his little cake. He opened lots of great gifts and loved them all. After his afternoon nap, he went to the hospital to visit his Great Granny and flirted with all the nurses.
It's amazing how times fly and how much he has changed in one year. Check out the slide show of the party. (I"m having trouble posting it so it will be updated soon!)

FIRST STEPS!!!!
We have really big news today. About 10 minutes ago Lucas took his first real steps for Mom and Dad. We got the second set on film for everyone. He's been taking little ones around the house for a day or two but nothing enough to call walking but this is really walking tonight. Enjoy the video.

Annual Event
Our Fisher/Rudolph Annual Butchering Event was this weekend. All went smoothly and roughly 100 pounds of sausage is done. On Saturday evening after all was cleaned up we got together for supper to enjoy our freshly smoked ribs. Audrey and Lucas had a great time playing together and after changing into their PJs decided to go for a drive. Lucas being a true boy and despite the fact he was sitting on the passenger side, wouldn't let Audrey touch the steering wheel, cause he was driving. But she did lay her head on his shoulder and try to snuggle while they were cruising the living room.

Lucas Update

Lucas is at a stage right now, where he is learning something new everyday. I notice more and more words that he understands (can't say yet, but totally understands). His fine motor skills are getting better because he is now obsessed with taking lids on and off of things. We did this for 15 minutes with the bottle last night :). He has a new favorite word, "HOT". Everything is hot, the stove, candles, the refrigerator, frozen foods, etc. He now climbs the stairs on a regular basis by himself (with us behind him of course). He folds his hands to pray (see video) and we are starting to work (play) with a fork and spoon at dinner time.
He is also doing some really sweet things. He gives Baby Adam wet slobbery kisses and plays peak a boo with Mommy's belly. He helps us cook and loves to watch anything Daddy does in the kitchen. He also helps with the laundry and is a pro at putting the dryer sheet in and closing the door. He has even started flushing the toilet for Mommy and Daddy.

I can't believe he will be one in a few weeks, my how time flies. Right now he is a very fun age and we are loving every minute with him (well, almost every minute :))

Happy New Year!!
Andy & I rang in the New Year at the Knights Home in St. Wendel which has become a tradition for us. Lucas spent the night at Grandma Eileen's and Grandpa Jim's and had a great time. Unfortunately, all day today he has been sick with a high fever. By evening he was feeling better, so hopefully it was a short lived bug.
I wanted to let everyone know that we have added a link to my sister's blog which is focused on her plans for a trip to South Africa to volunteer with children for this summer. It will be a great learning opportunity for her.
Earlier this year we added a link to my brother Nathan's blog which is focused on his wedding plans with Amber.
So my brother and sister both have very excited things planned for 2009. We are so thankful to have Lucas and an Adam on the way so we are looking forward to year filled with blessings as well.
