Camping

Went took our annual Memorial Day Weekend camping trip to New Harmonie this weekend. As the boys are getting older, camping is getting easier. We had a great time and enjoyed spending our time on our favorite camping activities. We camped with 7 families and had lots of family come down to visit. Adam loved everything about camping, and Lucas loved the water slide at the pool. His teeth were chattering and he was shivering so much that he could barely get out the words, " lets go again, Dad!". Adam one point in the weekend Adam looked at me, grinned, and said, "This is fun, Mom!". I hope our boys look back on these camping trips with fond memories of the great time we had as a family and our great friends.

Slow Down, Simple Blessings

Several times over the past few weeks, we have all four been in the kitchen cooking and Lucas will say out of the blue, "Isn't it great to be part of a family." What a gift to see through his eyes and hear directly from his mouth, what I so easily take for granted! How easy it is to rush quickly through daily chores and fuss at the boys for slowing me down, but if I just take the time to slow down and take in these simple moments I am easily me reminded how blessed I am each day.

Lucas grating nutmeg over strawberries. Yes we trust him with the microplaner :)

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend. On Saturday, Kay, Carrie, and I went to Edinburgh to do some shopping for a girl's day. On Sunday, we enjoyed a wonderful brunch at New Harmony and got some great pictures in the rose garden and surrounding area with the Rudolph's and Poag's. We were not able to take our normal walk due to the flood waters, but we had a great time. We then took a family nap and after doing a little yard work took a long Rhino ride. I feel very blessed to have my boys, husband, mother-in-law, grandmother, and step-mother all in my life.
