We had a very busy Easter Weekend. We started off Friday evening dying our Easter Eggs. The boys had a blast but I don't think it was enough eggs for them. On Saturday, we headed to the Easter Egg Hunt at the Knight's Home. Andy was the chairperson this year and the rain was a challenge. Adam fell asleep on the drive there, so luckily Grandma Kay scooped him out of the van and let him nap at her house while Lucas and I went to the hunt. Lucas was pretty crabby but had a great time hunting eggs, opening them to find surprises inside, and sampling some of his findings. He found 15 eggs and one of them had a dollar inside!

On Saturday evening we headed to Grandma Kay's and Paps house for a nice Easter Eve Dinner. We had my favorite, lamb chops, and they were delicious! The boys had another Easter Egg hunt and got baskets stuffed with goodies. They also got bicycle helmets for camping and bike riding this summer.

On Sunday morning, we woke up and found that the Easter Bunny had hidden the eggs we decorated earlier in the weekend and had left all 4 of us goodies in our Easter baskets. The boys got DVDs, kites, books, socks, crayons, bubbles, crocs, pinwheels and chocolate bunnies in theirs. Andy got trail mix and a DVD, and somehow the Easter Bunny sneaked into our house (after I filled the baskets) and left Mommy an iPad2. I love it!!!
After all the surprises, we wrestled the boys into their Easter outfits and surprised Grammy and Papaw Jim at their Easter Sunday Church Services. I'll be honest our boys are not at all practiced at sitting through services, but they did ok. During the children's message, Adam did climb up on the back alter and try to touch the candle and Lucas did take his shoes off, but that just provided entertainment to the adults :) After service we headed back to Dad's for family pictures, which is a challenge with little ones, but was a success. The kids got to hunt for eggs outside in the gravel and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The boys enjoyed visiting with Great Granny, The Ashburn's, Aunt Dena, and Aunt Amber and Uncle Nathan throughout the day. All in all we had a wonderful reason to celebrate and a wonderful time with our family. I have posted a slideshow with more pics of the weekend. Enjoy!
