In the past week, both the boys lost their first tooth. Lucas lost his on April 21st and Adam lost his April 26th. They even lost the same tooth.

Lucas had not been playing much with his, but it fell out when he was brushing his teeth one morning before school. Adam yelled down the stairs to Andy and I to inform us that his tooth had fallen out. We both rushed upstairs to find Lucas calmly still brushing his teeth. He hadn't even noticed that he was bleeding. We were so proud of Lucas because he has been very sensitive to anticipated pain in the past, but he did this like a champ. He posed for a picture for me and headed off to school.
When Lucas got home for school he picked out the fabric for his tooth fairy pillow and Mommy got to work! Lucas helped stuff the pillow and he was very pleased with it. He loaded it up that night and left it hanging on his bedroom door. The next morning he brought it down and opened everything up with Dad. He received $5, a certificate, and a receipt from the tooth fairy.

Adam had really been working on his tooth, but said he wanted it to fall out when it was ready just like Lucas had. So one night at bedtime it was really loose and he was crying because it hurt every time he touched it. Andy and I offered to pull it and he declined. I told him to come get me if kept hurting and tucked him in. Andy and I headed to the basement to watch some TV and we heard the pitter patter of feet upstairs but never heard from Adam, then we heard some yelling. We came up to find him with blood on his hands, chin, and cheeks and very upset. We went into our bathroom and got him to swish some water around in his mouth to help with the blood taste. We told him he just had to twist it and pull. He was very hesitant and upset, but sure he enough with one small tug it was out and he was very proud.
Adam had picked out all the fabric for his tooth fairy pillow when Lucas did and I had finished his up a few days before. He got to stuff his too! Adam loaded up his pillow and left it on the bannister at the bottom of the stairs so it would be easier for the tooth fairy to find. Lucas came down to congratulate Adam and they both were very hyper, but we sent them back to bed.
Adam woke the next morning and was a little disappointed with his goodies because they were the same things Lucas had gotten and he expected more, like $100. He also described his experience of pulling a tooth as, a boy with blood dripping from every part of his body. So we were proven wrong again and Adam turned out to be the more dramatic of the two when it came to loosing his tooth.
