Today we had a great day. We visited the Children's Museum of Evansville for the first time. Andy and I were quite impressed with how much stuff there was for both of the boys to do. Adam participated in everything just as much if not more than Lucas. I think Adam's favorite thing was the rice box and Lucas's was the hot air balloon. After the museum we went to Lic's and the boys got hot dogs and ice cream. We all went home and took a nap. Then we went outside and played for several hours and got to spend some time with our friends Jacob & Eli. Lucas loves to play with Jacob on the playground and new trampoline. Adam loves to poke Eli and eat dirt :)

On another topic, Adam had his 1 year check up this week. He is doing great! We are good to eat peanut butter and honey now. His growth has slowed down. He is now in the 40 percentile for both height and weight. He weighed in at 21 lbs 10 oz and is 29.75 inches tall. He started playing peek a boo this week by putting his hands over his ears (instead of his eyes) and giggles when you say peek a boo. It's quite funny.

Happy 1st Birthday Adam

Adam turned one this weekend. We had a birthday party for him on Sunday. He had a great time and enjoyed all the attention that he received. He was a good boy and left his party hat on pretty much the whole time. He enjoyed opening gifts and he loved the cake. I have so many good pictures it was hard to choose which one's to post, so I'll have a slide show up later this week. Happy Birthday, Adam! The year went by so fast and we look forward to many more fun birthday celebrations with our little blue eyed, smiling boy!

Wagon Ride

The boys and I went for a long wagon ride this afternoon. Part way through, Lucas complained that the sun was in his eyes and asked for a hat for himself and for Adam. These are their gift from Andy & I from Jamaica, Diego hats. Both of them left them on for the rest of the evening while we played outside with Jacob and Eli.

Blocks and balls

I got some cute colorful pics of the boys playing this weekend. Lucas was very patient and built a very big tower with his blocks. He kept adding pieces and then standing next to it to see if it was as tall as him yet. He was able to build it several inches taller than himself.

Adam played a lot this weekend in his ball pit which is one of his favorite things to do. He rolled the balls back and forth with me for several minutes which was a first for him. I love to watcht the boys play and see them develop new skills.

Warm Weekend

We were able to go outside this weekend. It's much easier to take both boys out by myself this year which is wonderful, since many times Andy is cooking supper or working on the weekends. Lucas is loving being outside, but Adam doesn't really know what to do yet, besides eat rocks. Both boys did enjoy playing on the deck while we grilled sausages for lunch on Saturday. Andy was able to capture a rare photo of both boys looking at the camera. The picture of Adam clearly illustrates how random his teeth are coming in. He has top teeth on the left and bottom teeth on the right, which must make it hard to chew :) I love this picture because it captures his personality perfectly. By the way, he is walking everywhere now, so apparently he didn't like my comments last week.

Addition to previous post

I forgot Lucas's big news in my previous post. He is no longer using his pacificer. The process of weaning him off of it was way easier than we expected. Adam doesn't take a passy, so we don't have to carry them around and find them laying all over the place anymore :)

Always Changing

Well, it's been a hectic 2 weeks since we have been back from our trip. Both boys came down with really bad chest colds, and Andy & I both had to work this past weekend which is rare for us. So we are finally settling back in to our normal routine. I thought this week I'd give everyone an update on what the boys are doing, because things here are always changing.

Adam is not that interested walking. Although he took his first steps several weeks ago, crawling is still his preferred mode of transportation. He's just started in the last day or so to take some steps without being prompted. He has really expanded his diet in the past few weeks. We are weaning off of formula and his bottle. He loves meat and fresh veggies. He is eating whatever Lucas has about 75% of the time, which is becoming very convenient. Adam is starting to throw fits when he doesn't get his way and he doesn't like to obey when you say, "NO!". So he is going to be a challenge. He loves climbing the stairs and playing in the toilet, so we have to keep a very close eye on him. He has had 3 new teeth come in 2 weeks. Now he has 3 on top and 3 on bottom, but there are 2 more that could break through any day now. We also moved Adam to an upright car seat and he and Lucas look so cute sitting in the back seat together. We are still working on the sleeping situation, but we have started back on crying it out. I'm hoping it won't be long now until we are sleeping through the night.

Lucas is really into his fire engine and fire fighters this week. We pretend that certain toys are on fire and he comes in and saves the day. He is really throwing some terrible two tantrums now when he doesn't get his way and everything is "I want..." and "I need...". He is hitting when he gets mad and he says "I need to hit you Mommy, I am mad". I figure at least he is identifying the emotions, he just doesn't know how to control them yet. Lucas is helping me teach Adam some new concepts like in and out and on and off. Another one of his favorite activities is announcing Adam. He gets Adam to go into our tent and then he says "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, announcing Adam!". Then he throws open the tent and Adam cackles. It's really cute.

We are ready for warm weather so we can get these stir crazy boys outside to play and we love watching the boys continue to grow and change.
