4 month checkup

Adam had his 4 month checkup this week. He weighs 16 lbs 10 oz and is 25.5 inches tall. That's 75% for height and 80% for weight. We though the was getting heavy but that's even bigger than we thought. The doctor said everything looks great! Adam also rolled over earlier this week, but hasn't since so he is still figuring out what he did. He has been sleeping upstairs in his room for 2 weeks now and is doing great up there. Wow how time flies!

Adam is such a happy little guy and we captured some of his giggles and squeals on video, enjoy!

Fun at the Fair

Andy & I took Lucas to the Vanderburgh County Fair this week. I have very fond memories of attending the fair when I was a child and I was hoping that Lucas would enjoy it as much as I did and I think he did. He loved the animals so much we walked each barn twice. The bunnies were his favorite. If you asked him what we did at the fair he always responds "Animals". He pet a cow and a pony. At every cage he said "Open" because he wanted to play with them all.

We saw tractors and excavating equipment and he loved sitting on them. Andy happened to know one of the salesmen so they opened up the excavator for Lucas to sit in the cab. He smiled the whole time.

Then we ate hot dogs, lemon shake ups, and chocolate ice cream. Lucas loved the lemons in the Lemon shake up. He sucked on them, made an awful face, said "Sour" and then "More" I think he liked the lemons as much as the ice cream, because he seemed very torn when asked to choose which one he wanted.

Finally we took Lucas to the midway to ride some rides. This was Lucas's first time on a carousel and he didn't really like it. After 2 loops around he was fussing and wanted me to hold him. Then we all three rode the Berry Go Round (spinning Strawberries). For the last ride we got brave and put Lucas on the baby ferris wheel alone. I was kinda freaked out by the creepy guy who took him and put him in it and Lucas was kinda freaked out by the ride. He made it around without crying 6 or 7 times and then he was done, but he was brave a gave it a good try.

I think Andy and I enjoyed watching Lucas have such a good time about as much as Lucas enjoyed the fair. Next year Adam will be old enough to come and enjoy himself too.

I posted a slideshow of all our pics of the evening. Enjoy!!

4 months old

Adam is four months old today. He is getting bigger and stronger by the day. He smiles and laughs all the time. He is a very content baby. Recently he started holding toys although Lucas doesn't quite understand that Adam has toys and wants to play with them by himself. Adam is also getting good at holding his head up straight while on his tummy. His big blue eyes are still his dominant feature, since he has no hair. He is eating 6 oz every 4 hours and is very close to sleeping through the night. We are moving him upstairs to his room next week. He is a wonderful this boy that we feel so blessed to have in our lives.

18 months old

Lucas is 18 months old today. He is growing up so fast. Lucas is talking non-stop now. He will repeat any words we ask him to. He is saying "elephant", "spaghetti", and "apple butter" very clearly. He is starting to say Lucas James when we play the knock knock game. (He closes the door and then knocks, I say who is it, and he replies "Lucas James", then I open the door.)

He is starting to have an opinion about things. He requests what songs we sing, what food he eats and what we do. Lucas is a very happy little boy, with lots of personality. I can't believe he's already 1.5 years old.

Congrats Nathan & Amber

This weekend was Nathan and Amber's wedding. It was great! Amber looked beautiful and Nathan looked very handsome. Lucas and Adam were very well behaved and looked adorable in their tuxes. And proving us all wrong Lucas went down the aisle. Once he saw the Handy Manny doll that Nathan had for him, he started running (literally). The ceremony and music was very nice and the reception was a blast! We had a scary moment when somehow Lucas got locked in the car alone between the ceremony and reception. I was worried he would be scared, Grandpa Jim was worry it was too hot, and Lucas just fell asleep. It's a good thing Daddy can drive fast. We got him out and he was wet with sweat, but never knew anything was wrong. I've posted a slide show with pictures from the rehearsal, wedding, reception, and opening gifts on Sunday. Enjoy!

Happy 4th!!

Adam

We had a great 4th! We started the day with Mommy & Lucas making chocolate chip cookies. Then we went to the Fisher's for supper and 4th of July fun! Lucas and Adam had lots of fun playing with Audrey. We enjoyed a great meal and then Daddy did some small fireworks outside. Lucas loved them. He kept clapping and saying, "Again, Again". We saw some pretty impressive displays from the surrounding neighborhoods before we headed home. Good friends, good food, and good times!!

Everyone once in a while I like to compare photos of the boys. Here's one of Adam this year and Lucas last year. Remember this time last year Lucas was 2 months older than Adam is now.
