Holiday World

We took our first trip to Holiday World and loved it!  The boys favorite ride was the Revolution.  We also loved all of the water park.  The boys didn't care much for waiting in line, but loved the water playgrounds.  We did ride the Wildebeest twice and loved that one.  We found Hyena Falls and was able to slide for about an hour straight.  The boys didn't want to go home at 8 PM, so we opened and closed the park and the boys wanted more!

Noah's Great Adventure

The boys and Mommy had a great time at Vacation Bible School this year.  The theme was Noah's Great Adventure and Mommy was the boys' group leader.  The boys got to help build the ark, by making animal cages, hammering windows, and painting the wood.  Their favorite time was getting in the ark for Bible Story time.  They enjoyed their craft time especially making animal themed visors.  We played relay races out side with water to represent all the rain during the flood. My favorite part was singing and dancing with the boys to all the fun songs.  

 

Funtastic Friday's

I have reduced my work hours starting this summer in order to spend some more quality time with the boys!  This summer I'm down to 32 hours per week, so I get to spend every Friday with the boys!  We have named these days Funtastic Friday's and we either stay home or go to town and do Funtastic things!  So far we have gone to the library, Farmer's Market, Putt Putt Golf, shopping, and have eaten lots of sweet treats!  I hope the boys will have fond memories of these days that we are so blessed to get to spend together!

Father's Day 2014

We spend Father's Day weekend's with the Dad's in our lives.  On Saturday, we swam and had dinner with Papaw.  On Sunday, the boys took Andy to see How to Train your Dragon 2.  It was a great movie!  Then on Sunday evening we made burgers with Paps!  It was a great weekend celebrating these strong, caring men that we are so blessed to have in our lives!

Camp Invention

Lucas attended his first camp this summer.  Camp Invention is a national camp sponsored by the Hall of Fame of Inventors.  The kids got to take in old electronics and take them apart in order to use the pieces in the prototypes that they created during camp.  Lucas was very excited to bring in a old desktop PC that his Dad gave him.  He loved camp! Each day they learned about one of the senses and then learned how to amplify it and built something to assist.  Lucas made a bionic eye, bionic ear, bionic feeling hand, etc.  Each group of kids also worked all week on their PinBug machine, which is a bug themed home made pin ball machine. Each child also got the frame of a battery powered vehicle that they could morph into different things. Lucas said that his could drive on the ground, in the air, or on water. Lucas's modifications  fell off the last day but he did win the award for the Most Cool Changes for which his prize was a tatoo!   All in all he seemed to have a fantastic time, he learned a lot, and was very proud of his inventions.
