Last week after Adam's birthday, I took a morning off to spend with Adam. First we dropped off Lucas at Missy's, then we went to get Mommy fitted for her bridesmaid dress. Adam took the pins out of the dress just a fast as she put them in, but he was a very good boy. Then we headed to his doctor's appointment. He weighs 26 pounds (25%) and is 34 inches tall (35%). So he is small just like his brother. He was a big boy and stood up for his height measurement and did a great job at the appointment.
From here, I took Adam to the zoo. He didn't get to go at all last year, so this was his first time as far as he could remember. He loved it. He moved quickly from place to place, but pointed at the animals and made sure I saw them too. He loved the fish and made a friend while looking at the Jaguar. He did great and loved the zoo. We picked up lunch and headed to Daddy's office for a picnic lunch in the conference room. Adam seemed like such a big boy that morning and I think he loved his one on one time.
Adam's personality is coming through more and more and his communication skills are really taking off. He is now saying at least 50 words and is starting to use them to tell us his preferences and desires instead of just naming objects. He will repeat almost anything we ask him too, and it's really cute. I think he is in the height of his cute stage right now. It's the stage when children are first talking and communicating and their little voices are just adorable, but before the really attitude and tantrums set in. I hope this stage lasts for a good while.
Adam is sleeping great and bedtime has become a real ease. He tells me "Night-Night" and goes up with Andy to read a few books and then with no complaints talks himself to sleep. Adam can say and recognize all his primary shapes as well as all his major body parts. He is working on mastering people's names right now. He continues to be a laid back, happy go lucky little boy but his patience for his brother's dominance is starting to wear thin. Lucas better watch out :)
