A few months ago Andy and I bought a pony party on a farm at a charity auction. Lucky for us Adam decided he wanted a "Cowboy Birthday". So last weekend, we headed off with our family and friends for the farm and a Cowboy Birthday Party! Adam loved riding the ponies, playing on the playground, eating cake, and opening his gifts. He was dancing, playing, and being his typical goofy self the whole time. We were able to really capture his personality in the pictures of his party (see slide show for more). He also continued to show his desire to have Lucas by his side at all times. He asked Lucas to help him open every gift, and Lucas patiently just assisted and didn't take over. Adam thanked everyone for their gift enthusiastically and has played with all of them this week.
Adam made everyone stand in a circle around him and hold hands while we sang Happy Birthday, which was too cute watching him boss everyone around. All the kids got to wear cowboy hats and bandanas in order to get a real cowboy feeling. Adam got a treat after his party because Noah, his god father and one of his favorite older boys, stayed at our house for a sleepover and played until lunchtime the next day.
Andy and I tried to take Adam out for dinner with just the two of us to a restaurant of his choice. However, this little boy didn't want to miss out on a trip to Grandma and Paps and didn't want to go anywhere without his brother. So we celebrated with some Sweet CeCe's yogurt instead.
On Monday, Adam got to celebrate his birthday at school. He took in a snack that consisted of Angry Bird Graham Crackers and milk. He told me with a mischievous grin that he and his friends dunked the crackers in their milk when the teachers weren't looking. His classmates sung Happy Birthday to him and he brought home a gift from his teacher. The gift included a toy ring and when Adam saw it, he got a big smile on his face and said, "Mom, a ring, now I can marry Alayna!" I almost peed my pants laughing at him.
I'm a little sad to see my baby turn 4, but he is still a sweet, silly, cuddler who crawls up in my lap everynight for some snuggle time. He makes us laugh everyday and we feel so blessed to have this little boy in our lives!
