This year the boys were on the same Tee Ball team and I was the head coach! The year started out pretty rocky with the boys not wanting to practice and deciding they didn't want to play. This was all after Mommy agreed to coach of course. The boys love of concession stand treats helped them to turn their season around in time for games! They had a great season!
Lucas did 100% better than last year with his focus and desire. He was afraid of the ball, so his preference was to play 3rd base or outfield when he "wasn't in the dangerous zone too close to the batter". He was very brave twice and played pitcher doing a great job both times. Lucas got a couple of hits of the machine this year and really seemed to have a good time overall. He loved that coach Lee told him he was his favorite batter. So every time he came up to bat he would remind Lee of that statement and tell him to launch the ball!
Adam had a great first season. He was the classic adorable player. He ran the bases pumping his arms twice as fast as his little legs where moving. He wanted to hand Mommy the bat before running to first! His maximum throw was about 5 feet, and if the ball wasn't within 5 feet of him he might not actually stand up from playing in the dirt and go get it. He enjoyed himself, but these games being later in the day when his energy tank was empty was a struggle for him.
I really enjoyed coaching all the boys on the team. I had some great help from other parents and I think each the boys learned something and had fun, which is all we can ask for! Papaw helped coach a few games which was very special to me and I know the boys really enjoyed that as well. Treats from the concession after almost all the games were the boys reward for doing their best and as you can tell they had a lot of fun!
