Adam's 6th Birthday

Adam had a great birthday celebration this week!  On Thursday, his actual birthday, he woke up early (at the same time as Lucas).  Lucas doesn't like it when Adam wakes up with him.  He likes to have a little time alone in the morning, so he yelled at Adam and hurt his feelings.  So as Andy and I sang to Adam, he cried.  Lucas was subsequently sent back to his room and this made Adam happier.  Andy treated Adam to some help getting dressed (so that we wouldn't have to fuss at him for 20 mins to focus and get dressed).  Then Lucas came back down with a gift wrapped up in his favorite blanket.  It was a pair of paper underpants with the Happy Birthday song written on it.  It was the first card that Adam has ever been able to read on his own! Lucas apologized for his earlier behavior and explained that he had spent extra time upstairs preparing this special card for his special brother!  We had donuts for breakfast and sang again to Adam, but this time he was all smiles!  He said that since Lucas was so nice to him by making the underpants that he would let Lucas have two birthday donuts!

Then off to school he went!  When I picked him up he said he was the only kid with a birthday today and he was included in the morning announcements.  He got to pick out his much anticipated birthday pencil!  He also said lots of people told him Happy Birthday!  I read him all the comments from Facebook and he beamed with pride.

Adam had a big decision to make about his birthday dinner, should Lucas go with us or should it just Mommy, Daddy and Adam?  He really pondered this decision and wanted to make sure Lucas was happy.  He wanted him to come, then I pointed out that if Lucas didn't come then we could talk about whatever Adam wanted over dinner with out any interruptions and immediately it was decided that just the three of us would go.  Adam chose Canton Inn for dinner and he enjoyed his usual, chicken nuggets, corn fritters, and peaches.  Then he finished with some ice cream and a cookie.

After dinner we headed to St. Wendel to see Noah as the lead role in his school play, The Comic Book Artist. We met Grandma and Lucas there.  Noah was great and the boys loved the play!  They brought Noah balloons for his special night and asked for Eraser Man's (Noah's superhero name) autograph.  Adam had a great birthday!
On Saturday, Adam had a Disney Infinity party at our house with his Grandparents and God Parents to celebrate.  He opened lots of Disney Infinity Characters and couldn't wait to try them out. He also got a new video rocking chair, video, and Lego set.  He was very excited about each and every gift and did a great job thanking everyone!  We enjoyed a chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream and then we let the boys play!

Adam did pose for a few pictures with his parents and god parents before playing his video game.

On Sunday, Adam  had Cooper and Carter over for a play date.  They played inside, outside, and watched a movie.  The boys all had a great time!  I asked Adam Sunday evening how his birthday weekend was and he said "Awesome!"
