Jake and the Neverland Pirates Birthday Party!

Lucas is turning 5 and he got to have his first "friend" party!  He chose Jake and the Neverland Pirates as his theme and had several requests.

1. Pin the Hook on Captain Hook game
2. Treasure Hunt Pirate Adventure
3.  Really big cake

Lucky for Lucas, we were able to deliver on all three of his birthday party requests and with the help of our awesome family, Lucas got more than he asked for. We had the party at the Knights Home and invited 18 of Lucas's friends and cousins with their parents along with Lucas's grandparents and aunt and uncles.  We decorated with pictures of Jake and his pirate crew and treasure maps.

Lucas greeted his guests as they arrived and soon we started our craft project.  Everyone decorated their own pirate hat, and I was quite impressed with these kids' skills!  Then each child got to pick a pirate name to put on their name tag.  Lucas chose, "Cleaver Lucas the Leader" and Adam chose "Shipwreak Adam the Sneaky Snook"!

 

Next up our pirate adventure treasure hunt! Each "pirate" grabbed their hat, name tag, and booty bag and we got started. Andy and I were the pirate adventure guides and we explained to the kids that Lucas had found a treasure map at the Knight home while decorating and we thought there might be a secret treasure right here in the building.  We just needed to follow the map and see what we might find. Lucas then interrupted and proceeded to explain each stop on the map to everyone.  He was a great pirate leader!

We were off to the first stop on the map, "How to Talk Like a Pirate" with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Brandon!  These two did a great job of leading the kids in some pirate chants and rewarded them with gold doubloons for their booty bags!

Next we headed downstairs to Crocodile Creek.  Grandma and Paps explained that each pirate
had to walk the plank across Crocodile Creek very quietly in order to not wake up Tick Tock Croc!  When each pirate successfully completed the challenge they were rewarded with more pirate booty!

We headed back upstairs for Pin the Hook on Captain Hook with Grammy and Papaw!  The kids did a great job of waiting for their turn to be blindfolded and pin the hook on. Guess what, more gold doubloons! 

With booty bags overflowing, the kids found this treasure chest behind a palm tree just like the map.  Lucas got to open it up to see what was inside.  Treasure filled treat boxes for everyone!

 
 As the kids played with their treasure, Lucas opened some fantastic new movies, toys, books, and iTunes cards, as well as some very generous donations to his college fund.  He did a good job of thanking everyone for the presents!

Next we did cake and ice cream.  Andy hired a "wonder woman" as his assistant last year.  This woman not only knows her real estate, but she makes the most awesome cakes!  I showed Lucas some pictures online and this is the one he picked out. Sara did a great job making it!  (Adam is already requesting a tall cake for his next birthday!)  Everyone sang to Lucas and with the help of Adam he blew out his candles. 

 

After the cake everyone played and we waited out a severe thunderstorm on this 67 degree day in January!  Lucas is so very blessed to have family who dressed up to entertain him and his friends and who helped with pictures, video taping, and serving the desserts!  He is also so blessed to have such great friends,to join him for his pirate adventure and birthday celebration.  He said it was the best party ever and the best day of his life.  We just all love our little Pirate Lucas!  I've posted a slide show of the pictures for everyone to see!
